  • Skyline has been serving Georgia and the Southeast for over thirty years. The company is owned and operated by three (3) generations of of the family. Four (4) generations in total have worked within the industry.

  • Skyline's senior leadership (President through Foremen) has minimal turn-over. All personnel within this group have 17-52 years of experience in their capacity. Skyline has two (2) Licensed General Contractors on staff .

  • Skyline has completed all of its projects on or ahead of schedule and within budget. Skyline is well versed in developing value engineering options to keep a project within budget .

  • Our entire workforce receives formal training in safety, first aid , CPR, equipment operations , fire prevention and other critical tasks.


President

Founder

James H. Jenkins, Jr.’s career in general contracting, roofing, and sheet metal spans over forty-six years. He currently serves as President of Skyline Construction Services, Inc., and has done so since its inception. He also serves as president of The Verde Corporation, headquartered in Central Georgia. Mr. Jenkins is a licensed State of Georgia General Contractor. He holds the title of Certified Professional Roofing Contractor (CPRC). This professional title is earned through testing in the State of Florida and is administered by the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Association (FRSA). This industry-leading program is nationally recognized by the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). Mr. Jenkins is a licensed and credentialed installer for all roofing systems for most major roofing manufacturers.


Vice President

Steven R. Johnston attended Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, GA, from 1991 to 1993 and Georgia College and State University from 1993 to 1995. He earned Bachelor's Degrees in both Military Science and Criminal Justice Administration and a Commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. During this time, he also worked for Skyline Construction Services, Inc. as a roofer and foreman. In 1995, he entered the Active Duty Army as an Apache Helicopter Pilot and Officer. He rose to Major and was in command at multiple levels. His duty assignments included a combat deployment to Afghanistan from 2002-2004; Joint and Combined force assignments (working with other US Armed Forces branches and Armed forces from different countries); Air Cavalry Troop Commander (responsible for 250 soldiers); Air Cavalry Squadron Executive Officer (2nd in command for 600 soldiers); special assistant to the US Ambassador/ Special Envoy to Afghanistan (Zalmay Khalizad) 2002-2004. After being Honorably Discharged from the Army, Steve became a full-time Skyline Construction Services, Inc. employee in 2004. He currently holds the positions of Vice President, Superintendent, and Head Estimator. Steve has extensive computer and technical skills. He is a credentialed installer of roofing systems with most major manufacturers. He has completed numerous continuing education courses about roofing sponsored by the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) and significant roofing manufacturers. Mr. Johnston recently obtained his Georgia General Contractor’s License.


Chief Financial Officer

Jason Jenkins currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer. He graduated from Putnam County High School in 1996 and formerly served as Branch Manager of Georgia Vinyl Distributors (1997- 2015) and Gulf Eagle Supply (2015-2023) in Eatonton, Georgia. Jason has his Commercial Driver’s License and recently acquired his Versico Contractor Certification while at Skyline Construction Services. Jason Jenkins offers over three decades of expertise in the roofing and construction industry and strong leadership skills from his branch manager roles. His financial acumen as a Chief Financial Officer and a Commercial Driver’s License and Versico Contractor Certification ensures he brings diverse skills crucial for strategic decision-making and operational excellence to our company.


Head Field

Superintendent

Grady Carnes has been involved with construction related work his entire life. From the ages of 10 -18 he worked in his family’s large dairy business. This 24-hour a day, 365 day a year operation included thousands of acres of land and hundreds of dairy cattle. Grady worked at all levels of the operation up to the position of lead dairyman. Upon graduating from Putnam County High School in 1992 until 2001, Mr. Carnes was employed as a floating carpentry specialist at Horton Homes in Eatonton, GA. From 2001 until 2006, Mr. Carnes owned his own construction company, Southern Home Specialists. His company built approximately 12 custom homes per year as well as completed numerous remodeling jobs throughout central Georgia. His company was regularly employed by Skyline Construction Services, Inc. on large projects throughout the southeastern United States. In 2006, he was asked to join Skyline’s team full–time as a foreman. He quickly rose to the position of Head Field Superintendent. He is regularly selected to manage the field operations of the most critical and demanding jobs Skyline receives. Grady is a qualified installer of all types of roofing for most major manufacturers. He develops excellent rapport with the most demanding customers ensuring customer satisfaction. Mr. Carnes has never had a lost time accident on any of his projects and boasts the best safety record in the company. He is also certified crane operator up to 75 tons in capacity.


Head Sheet Metal Superintendent

David Hadid currently serves as Skyline Construction Services’ Head Sheet Metal Superintendent. He began as an apprentice at the age of 16 and has provided within the industry for over 40 years. Mr. Hadid has worked with Skyline for over 30 years fabricating intricate sheet metal pieces and components. David also used his craftsmanship to construct our copper detail work along with making copper art in his free time.
